In Acts 13 Paul and Barnabas arrived in Antioch in Pisidia. On the Sabbath, they went into the synagogue and were invited to speak. When Paul finished his message the people begged them to come back the following week. One week later "almost the whole city gathered to hear the word of the Lord."
Can you imagine!? A typical synagogue of 100-200 people heard Paul preach. The following week almost the whole city, (by most estimates nearly 20,000 people) came to hear the gospel message. What must have happened for a crowd of 100-200 to influence the whole city? The people of the synagogue must have been so excited about the gospel that they spread the message in their neighborhoods and workplaces, and as a result, thousands came to hear more about Jesus!
This is the motivation for "What if the Church Loves KC". We have a message that will transform lives!
Will you work with us to take the gospel to the neighborhoods of Kansas City!? There are over 814,000 households in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Our hope is to adopt every household in prayer and establish teams of Christ followers in every neighborhood in our city.
Our goals are:
100,000 people engaged in missional prayer
10,000 neighbors living out their missional calling
100 churches linking arms to love Kansas City
